Well it is no news that Mobile Technology has gone Android! Those of use who have refused to leave the Blackberry platform often feel alienated when we cant enjoy certain software because the software isnt available on BB.

The point is not far-fetched; Android rules! This post is a list of few steps that you can follow to place your own Android App on the Google play store! It could be a software on it's own, or a launcher for your website...I just did that today and I wanted to share how!

The first step in publishing is to register for Google Play at the Google Play publisher site.
If you want to sell your app and make some money, you need to set up a Google Wallet Merchant account here Get Started with Publishing | Android Developers

    Requirements:
    • Your final APK file (APK) to be uploaded
    • The Official Name (max 30 characters).
    • A description of your app (max 4000 characters).
    • Icon, 512 x 512 32-bit PNG
    • At least 2 screenshots
Here are the final steps according to Google:

    1. Go to your Google Play Developer Console.
    2. Select All applications All applications > Add new application.
    3. Using the drop down menu, select a default language and add a title for your app. Type the name of your app as you want it to appear in Google Play.
    4. Select Upload APK.
    5. Choose from the Production, Beta, or Alpha channels and select Upload your APK. For more information on alpha/beta testing, go to use alpha/beta testing & staged rollouts.

    Boom...you are Good to go
